I always feel lucky when Andrew is around, because he is super unique. He plays small characters so big. Something I am unable to do. Whereas when I play a small character, usually their POV and status is also small, but Andrew has this amazing ability to find a way to get them to have high status, or at least high-status energy, which allows him to make choices and drive some of the show when necessary. Typically, those characters take a back seat and enjoy the ride when others play them, but not with him. He reminds me of Fred Armisen a lot with how he plays. A lot of weird characters that somehow also feel very relatable. Again, where I tend to play characters that are more stereotypical, I feel that Andrew always has a little unique quirk about them that make them different. It’s subtle, but it’s always there. Andrew is one of those players that I often think “he’ll be fine” if a scene is slow. I think because his choices are so unique, even if his scene is missing a lot of the base reality details, his choices will be creative enough to hold the audience. He’s like the opposite of me. I get away with being big and loud a lot. I make a choice. I build on it. And as I build on it, I get louder and more excited. Andrew gets smaller (and bigger) and it’s beautiful to watch.
